Our Superintendent

Dr. David Pyle was selected as the Superintendent of San Jacinto Unified School District by a unanimous decision of the Board Of Trustees on May 12, 2020.
Prior to starting with SJUSD, he served for eight years as the Superintendent at Nuview Union School District in Nuevo, California, and has also worked as a Teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal.
Dr. Pyle is a California native who was born and raised in San Diego and earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech/Communication from Long Beach State. He earned his master’s degree in Educational Administration from National University and earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.
Under his leadership, the District has celebrated many accomplishments including:
- Opening of the new Monte Vista Middle School campus (fall 2021)
- Establishment of San Jacinto Technology Institute (online learning) (fall 2021)
- Relocation and expansion of San Jacinto Leadership Academy (fall 2021)
- Establishment of San Jacinto Middle College High School (fall 2023)
- Opening of the new Family Engagement Center (spring 2024)
- Groundbreaking of Rose Salgado Elementary School (fall 2025)
- Remarkable improvement in the achievements of multilingual learners
Dr. Pyle leads our highly talented and dedicated staff in the implementation of our mission, providing equity and access to ensure each and every student achieves high levels of learning while developing cultural responsiveness and social responsibility. By focusing on our core values of equity, excellence, student success, integrity, and innovation while cultivating family/community relationships our students will be impacted by “The San Jacinto Difference.”
