PBIS

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (small group), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all youth by making targeted misbehavior less effective and relevant, and desired behavior more constructive and functional.

RCOE and PBIS coaches from across Riverside County participated in a “field trip” to De Anza to witness and learn about the huge successes De Anza is having with their PBIS implementation.  PBIS TOSAs attended RCOE School Campaigns on Wellness as part of a Grant to provide wellness spaces and services at the school sites. This was number 2 of a series of 3. State recognition applications for PBIS Awards are currently being submitted, all are due by May 9, 2025. On Friday, May 2, PBIS TOSAs joined Megan Cope staff and families at a Storm Game, a great example of building home to school connections.
