Stole Ceremony Honors Native American Graduates On May 19, SJUSD's Title VI Program & Native Parent Advisory Council honored our Native American graduating seniors at a special Stole Ceremony & Dinner. Each student received a cultural stole to wear at graduation, a powerful symbol of heritage and achievement.

Shining Scholars Celebration! The 4th Annual Black Excellence Awards was held on May 12, celebrating 8th graders & seniors with 3.0+ GPAs. Special honors went to James T., Kaylin M., Kristi C. and Jalisa H. (4.30+ GPAs). The evening included performances, a keynote, dinner and awards. Congratulations to all!

Tasty Learning! Students from De Anza, Estudillo, Hyatt & Cope Elementary recently toured Central Kitchen! They explored the bakery with a scavenger hunt, scooped corn on the production line, watched a forklift in the warehouse, visited the freezer & played a fun “MyPlate” game.
Recognition Reception The SJ Education Foundation hosted its annual Recognition Reception on May 7 and honored students winners of the Stephen Talley Art Enrichment Program and scholarship recipients as well as many SJUSD employees.

Showcase Ready! The 2025 football season may be months away, but San Jacinto players are already putting in work. At the May 6 Football Showcase, over 25 college coaches came to scout and connect with our athletes. From effort to execution, they showed up. First home game: August 29!
De Anza Rewinds Time! On April 30, De Anza Elementary opened a 25-year-old time capsule from the year 2000! Despite water damage, staff saved notes and memorabilia. About 30 alumni and staff attended. One alum found his note from 25 years ago! A new capsule will be buried, ready for the next "reveal" in 2050!
