At North Mountain Middle School, students are stepping into the spotlight (and behind the camera) as they produce daily segments of Husky World News.
Led by instructor Bill Boggess, the student-run program uses a simple setup that includes a green screen, a microphone, a few cameras, and often just students’ phones and paper cue cards. Students plan upcoming segments, volunteer for roles, and develop interview questions before heading out across campus to capture footage.
The result is a dynamic news program that keeps the Husky community informed about school updates, reminders, expectations, and upcoming events, all while building students’ confidence, collaboration, and communication skills.
Upcoming features on Husky World News include coverage of Principal Appreciation Day, School Lunch Hero Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week, highlighting the people who make a difference on campus every day.
