Three SJUSD students were recognized for their outstanding achievements at the “Boots on the Ground: Black Voices of the Valley” event, held on February 28. This year’s theme, “Rodeo of Resilience,” celebrated the strength, perseverance, and accomplishments of students and community members alike.
Among those honored were Daijon Gilliam and Jordyn Crawford, both recipients of the Academic Excellence Scholarship, and Yazel Pleasant, who earned the Stellar Award Scholarship.
The Night of Black Excellence brought together families, educators, and community leaders in a meaningful celebration of excellence and community.
