BARR School of Excellence

Congratulations to San Jacinto High School (SJHS) who has been recognized by the BARR Center (Building Assets, Reducing Risks) as a 2025–2026 BARR School of Excellence, honoring the school’s strong commitment to implementing the nationally recognized model with fidelity.

Now in its ninth year of the program, SJHS continues to support the whole student through a culture of positivity, collaboration, and targeted interventions, including Block Meetings, I-Time lessons, and Community Connect sessions. The ninth-grade BARR team has made a significant impact by recognizing hundreds of students, delivering hundreds of lessons, and focusing on reducing course failures, while site leadership remains actively engaged.

Led by BARR Coordinator and Assistant Principal Fidel Salcedo, SJHS has also earned national recognition, including BARR Center Accreditation and distinction as the only California high school honored at last year’s national conference. SJHS continues to serve as a model for schools nationwide, demonstrating the power of a unified, student-centered approach.
