THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR IS NOW OPEN!

 

Sites will be processing volunteer applications and assisting with

scheduling of volunteer service, depending on the needs of each school site.

VOLUNTEER APPLICATION PROCESS 

New Volunteers 

To ensure timely review of your application, please complete the following steps as soon as possible and submit necessary items to the school that is processing your application: 

 

  • Complete electronic Volunteer Application and upload copy of your I.D - - https://app.informedk12.com/link_campaigns/23-24-sjusd-volunteer-application?token=hgRLS1w1HV8Fgv8zsXzUGKht
  • Contact the school to complete the Volunteer Training.
  • Once the school informs you (verbal or email) that you have been approved by the principal, you may proceed with the steps listed below.
  • Submit proof of Tuberculosis (TB) test and schedule a live scan fingerprint appointment; submit proof of completion for both items to the school you've selected to volunteer at.
  • You will receive an email notification upon final approval and instructions for obtaining your volunteer badge. Be ready to be photographed.

Returning Volunteers 

Returning volunteers are those who have been previously approved by SJUSD and are seeking their annual renewal. District office personnel will process returning volunteer applications. If there are any pending items--for example, TB renewal is due--you will be notified by the district office. TB certification is valid for 4 years from the date of reading. 

 
*If TB certification renewal is necessary, you will be contacted by the District.* 

Head Start/State Preschool Volunteers

  • Contact the school to complete the Volunteer Training. 
  • Once the school informs you (verbal or email) that you have been approved by the principal, you may proceed with the steps listed below 
  • Submit proof of Tuberculosis (TB) test and immunization records for: Pertussis, Measles, and Influenza.
  • Schedule a live scan fingerprint appointment and submit proof of live scan fingerprint completion to the preschool.
  • You will receive an email notification upon final approval and instructions for obtaining your volunteer picture badge.

Student Volunteer's 
(Students in grades TK-12 Only)
 
Please Note: Student volunteer applications are processed on an as needed basis. 
*ALL students who wish to volunteer must complete a volunteer orientation. You will receive more information upon applying.*
 
SJUSD Students:
 
 
NON SJUSD Students:
  • Must print out PDF application (see below), and start the process with your school of attendance, then submit it to the SJUSD school desired for volunteering, once you receive your school approval. 
  • Your final approval notification will be from the District Office.
