PBIS
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (small group), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all youth by making targeted misbehavior less effective and relevant, and desired behavior more constructive and functional.

Attendance & Discipline TOSAs (Teachers on Special Assignment)
San Jacinto Unified has established a Multi-Tiered System of Supports for elementary schools. The TEAM consists of three teachers and an administrator that will perform a variety of responsibilities. The TEAM will work directly with students, parents, and staff on attendance and discipline. The TOSAs will focus on assisting students and formulating success plans with parent and staff input. The mission of the Attendance & Behavior TOSAs is to improve social, emotional and academic outcomes for all students!
Our program promises to improve the way schools support students in need of behavior supports by fostering positive relationships and supporting families based on demonstrated areas of need.
The Program aims to meet the students’ social emotional needs while frequently monitoring their progress in order to make decisions that will bring about positive changes. The team will apply the problem-solving model as they recommend services/intervention for the student based on the demonstrated needs.
Our TOSAs are grounded in building relationships and highlighting how best to meet the needs of children experiencing attendance and social difficulties in school.
