OASIS After School Program
OASIS (Outstanding After-School Instruction and Safety) is a free after-school program offered to SJUSD K-8 students. The OASIS program is designed to provide a safe, structured, engaging, and academically enriching after-school environment for students in grades K-8. Due to the affects of the COVID Pandemic, social and emotional support has also been integrated into the OASIS program. Our goal is to be an engaging extension to the regular school day, building student success, confidence and self-esteem.
Students that attend the OASIS program regularly have shown statistically significant improvement in student achievement as well as improved high school graduation rates. The SJUSD OASIS extended learning program serves approximately 850 students at nine different school sites, including all elementary schools, as well as Monte Vista and North Mountain Middle Schools.
The OASIS program is provided free to all participating students, thanks to the California Department of Education’s After-School Education and Safety (ASES) grant.
OASIS is a collaboration between SJUSD, parents, and several community organizations including Valley-Wide Parks and Recreation, Diamond Valley Arts Council, Making Musica, Sports for Learning, and STEM to the Future.
OASIS operates at elementary schools from dismissal (M-Th at 3:15 pm, Friday at 1:35 pm) until 6:15 pm, and at middle schools from dismissal (M-Th at 2:00 pm, Friday at 12:00 pm) until 6:00 pm. OASIS offers the following activities:
