Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

Expanded learning” means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. It is the intent of the Legislature that expanded learning programs are pupil-centered, results-driven, include community partners, and complement, but do not replicate, learning activities during the regular school day and school year.

SJUSD seeks to provide equity and access of expanded learning opportunities for each and every scholar to support the regular school day in creating scholars who can learn at high levels, are culturally responsive, and promote social responsibility in grades Transitional Kinder through Sixth.

These opportunities will target 30 non-instructional calendar days with direct student services for up to nine hours a day. The non-instructional days may include but are not limited to summer break, intersessions, Saturdays, and before/after school hours.
After School Enrichment Opportunities
SJUSD is proud to partner with Think Together to support the San Jacinto community with scholars' afterschool needs. Think Together staff will work with OASIS school site staff to provide a core base program with a curriculum focused on the whole child. The Think Together program will support afterschool enrichment opportunities through the 2022-2023 school year beginning on the first day of school. This program will be offered at our 7 elementary and 3 middle schools. Please click on the link below to register.
