The Public Employee’s Pension Reform Act of 2013 and related changes to the Public Employees’ Retirement Law have created two categories of classified school employees – Classic PERS Members (those already established in PERS prior to January 1, 2013) and New Members (those new to PERS, hired on or after January 1, 2013). Classic PERS Members will be placed on the District’s Paid-PERS salary schedule. New hires who are also new to PERS will be placed on the District’s Non-Paid PERS salary schedule. Salary placement is determined by the District.
