San Jacinto Unified's Retired Athletic Director Jeff Snyder to be Honored Twice in March

San Jacinto, CA – Retired San Jacinto High School Athletic Director Jeff Snyder will be inducted into the Citrus Belt Area Athletic Directors Association’s (CBAADA) Hall of Fame on March 7, 2017, during a luncheon at Indian Hills Country Club in Riverside, California.  Snyder retired from San Jacinto Unified in June 2016, after a 36-year career as teacher, coach and Athletic Director, all spent on the San Jacinto High School campus.

One day prior to Coach Snyder’s induction into the CBAADA Hall of Fame (Monday, March 6, 2017), the new San Jacinto High School Strength and Conditioning Facility will be dedicated to him during the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 9:30 am at San Jacinto High School. The new Strength and Conditioning Facility, made possible, in part, due to a generous donation from the San Jacinto Education Foundation, is being dedicated to Coach Snyder in honor of his steadfast commitment to students both on and off the athletic field.

“Our staff and students are so proud of the new, state-of-the-art Strength and Conditioning Facility,” stated SJHS Principal Luke Smith at SJUSD’s Board of Trustee meeting on February 15.  “We humbly ask for approval to dedicate the new facility in honor of our biggest supporter over many years, Mr. Jeff Snyder,” stated Smith, who was in attendance at the meeting.  The Board unanimously approved the dedication of the new facility to Coach Snyder who spent his last 12 years as San Jacinto High School’s athletic director.

San Jacinto High School has had a weight room on campus over the years but has been relocated several times.  The new Strength and Conditioning Facility will take residence in the area on campus affectionately referred to as the “old gym”, which has been repurposed over the past five months.  Not only does the 7,000 square foot facility contain the original newly refurbished weight room equipment, but also has been outfitted with brand new Samson® equipment making it comparable to college and professional sports training facilities such as Oregon State University and University of Colorado. This would not have been possible without the generous support from the San Jacinto Education Foundation.

Coach Snyder learned of the CBAADA’s Hall of Fame induction in January, with a congratulatory memo from John Tibbels, Ramona High School’s Athletic Director and CBAADA President-Elect and Hall of Fame Chair.  “Based on your years of outstanding service to the Citrus Belt Area Athletic Directors Association, you have been selected…” noted Tibbels in his announcement memo to Snyder.  Tibbels described Snyder as a steady participant in CBAADA, and noted Snyder rarely ever missed a meeting and ran a quality athletic program at SJUSD.

Snyder’s wife, Eugenia, a current 13-year SJUSD employee, is appreciative of the continued recognition Jeff continues to receive in retirement.  “I’m very proud to see that people still recognize Jeff’s commitment to students because he believes in ‘education first’ and positive athletics for boys and girls,” shared Eugenia.
